On June, 23rd, The Universal Bar will celebrate 25 years in the business, commemorating its silver anniversary at its home on Northbridge’s William Street. Featuring live music by crowd favourite and resident band Soul Corporation and local DJs, Universal Bar’s Silver Anniversary Party will celebrate its new patrons and thank its regulars – from customers to bartenders. Since its opening on William Street in April 1993, Universal Bar has seen national and international bands take to its stage, including The Stevie Wonder band, Dr F, Soothe, VDELLI and Nightmoves. The venue has also provided a platform for Western Australia’s homegrown bands, cementing itself as Perth’s leading late-night venue for live entertainment through its involvement with peak music body West Australian Music’s annual Northbridge Festival. Over the years, Universal Bar has also positioned itself at the forefront of Perth’s craft cocktail scene, holding numerous cocktail masterclasses and competitions and allowing fellow Perth bartenders the opportunity to express their creative flair.
