Paul Kelly – Life Is Fine

Paul Kelly – Life Is Fine

25/11/2017 - 26/11/2017

We know life is fine but it just got finer with the announcement of a massive national tour by one of the country’s most respected singer-songwriters, Paul Kelly. Touring in support of his 23rd studio album ‘Life Is Fine’, Paul will be trailing the highways and byways of Australia as he performs in Darwin, Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Brisbane, Coffs Harbour, Tamworth, Newcastle, Hobart, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth this November. Meanwhile, his fans in Victoria can catch him on his A Weekend In The Gardens performance on 17 November, the only Victorian show included in the tour. The release of ‘Life Is Fine’ last August saw Paul’s name on top of the ARIA Charts for the first-time ever in his almost four-decade career. The album is now considered his most powerful and most evocative material thus far, spawning songs like ‘Firewood and Candles’, ‘Rising Moon’ and ‘Letter in the Rain’ that are reminiscent of his early 80’s works. Paul Kelly’s contribution into the Australian music history is inimitable. Starting out as a club singer in Hobart’s Salamanca Place, he has carved out a wonderful career that has been touching and inspiring the hearts of many. In 1997, he was inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame. This year saw him being awarded the Officer of the General Division of the Order of Australia for his “distinguished service to the performing arts and to the promotion of the national identity through contributions as a singer, songwriter and musician.” Paul will be joined by equally amazing artists across the tour. Busby Marou will be in tow for the Darwin, Townsville and Cairns shows while Sahara Beck will show up on the Rockhampton show. Meanwhile, three-time Grammy Award-winner Steve Earle and Sydney three-piece Middle Kids will support Paul on all the remaining dates.
