One Day In Fremantle
27/01/2019The City of Fremantle is proud to bring One Day in Fremantle back to the Esplanade Reserve this summer with ARIA Award winner Montaigne lined up to headline the event. The event will begin with a smoking ceremony at Bathers Beach at 8am, followed by a host of cultural workshops and activities for everyone to enjoy at Kidogo Arthouse from 9.30am – 1.30pm. Montaigne will headline the celebrations after recently releasing her latest single ‘For Your Love’. Joining Montaigne will be up-and-coming soul singer Adrian Eagle , mesmerising Emily Wurramara who sings in both English and her first language Anindilyakwa, as well as local legends The Hunting Birds and The Spring Peaks. In addition to great music, there’ll be a range of free family-friendly activities to enjoy throughout the day. Strike a pose in the photo booth or get creative with the community canvas painting. Join in the craft workshops and make a musical instrument from recycled materials, or have a try at the nature weaving workshops. There will also be traditional Ochre face painting and sampling of barbeque bush tucker.
