Laneway Festival 2019

Laneway Festival 2019

10/02/2019

What started as a series of weekly shows at a tiny Melbourne bar has bloomed into one of Australia’s most beloved festival institutions. Across a decade of expansion that has seen the St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival become an international signifier of essential music, the event continues to showcase its original set of values: championing community, fostering collaboration, encouraging self-expression, and finding ongoing excuses to have fun. St Jerome’s Laneway Festival has revealed the much-hyped music lineup for its 15th birthday celebrations, which will hit Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Fremantle in February 2019. Headlined by Gang Of Youths and Courtney Barnett, next year’s lineup also features the likes of Rex Orange County, Methyl Ethel, Middle Kids, Jorja Smith, What So Not, Denzel Curry and Parquet Courts. Organisers say 53 per cent of this year’s lineup consists of Australian acts, while the gender split is 64 per cent male to 34 per cent female, based on the permanent members of each act.
