Comedy Gold – Best of the Adelaide Fringe

Comedy Gold – Best of the Adelaide Fringe

20/08/2016

We bring you four comedians who dominate the Adelaide Fringe – you have to be special to succeed at the largest arts festival in the southern hemisphere. This year’s headline act is Mickey D, one of Australia’s most loved and respected comedians. Mickey D is no longer emerging as one of the this land’s funniest stand-ups, he is already there. After 16 years on the international circuit Mickey D makes comedy look effortless on stage. He has too many awards and nominations to list. Oh alright, here’s one: he took the gold at Triple J’s Raw Comedy. You’ll know UK-born comedian and TV personality Bob Franklin from The Cooking Show (starring opposite good friend Jimeoin), The Librarians and of course was a regular and favourite on Thank God You’re Here. Dry, original and witty, Franklin is an audience favourite. Fabien Clark kicks off the night of with stories of his imaginary relationships with “check-out chicks”, how a jeweller ruined his marriage proposal and his adventures on Tinder. Clark was winner of the 2013 Adelaide Comedian of the Year Award, and it’s easy to see why audiences love this self-deprecating father of three. Clark was nominated this year for Adelaide Fringe Best Comedy Show. MC Boo Dwyer’s love of musical comedy, party games and her Birmingham wit has led her to be twice nominated for the Perth Fringe Awards as Best Comedy Act in 2014 & 15. Fresh from hosting the Adelaide Fringe Comedy Awards 2016, Boo is in career best form and ready to make this a night to remember. The only reason you will want the show to end is so you can catch your breath! This event is suitable for patrons aged 16+. It contains coarse language and adult themes.
