ANZAC Cottage in Mount Hawthorn will mark Remembrance Day on Wednesday 11 November 2026 with Growing Up with Gallipoli, a special event exploring the experiences of Australian children during the First World War.

Presented by the Friends of ANZAC Cottage, the event will look at how children were affected by the war, from having family members serving overseas to finding ways to contribute to the war effort at home. Visitors can discover what children wrote during the conflict, learn about the games they played and explore displays showing what everyday life was like for young Australians between 1914 and 1918. Children attending will also have the opportunity to try games from the era.

The commemoration will include the Field of Remembrance honouring Australian veterans, the story of ANZAC Cottage and a Sunset Service beginning at 5pm, with young people taking part in the ceremony.

Entry is free, with refreshments available for a gold coin donation.
