Join the Perth Symphonic Chorus, with a Baroque ensemble led by Shaun Lee Chen, for an intimate concert of early to middle Baroque music at St Mary’s Church South Perth, under the baton of guest conductor, Sarah Mills Menogue.

The program will explore the music of Italy and Germany, culminating in the work of Heinrich Schütz, whose writing was stylistically influenced by both countries. Be treated to the sparkle and charm of Monteverdi and Leonarda, who was the most prolific woman composer of her era, as well as the brooding sounds of what is thought to be Bach’s first cantata. The concert will culminate in what is known as Schütz’s German Requiem, a powerful and evocative work commissioned for the funeral of Prince Heinrich von Reuss.
