Get ready for a night of guitar-powered brilliance under the stars at TWANG, the headline event of The York Festival. On Sunday 28 September at the York Racecourse, enjoy an outstanding line-up including Scarlet’s Way, Nathan Gaunt & The Sunset Riders, and Lucky Oceans’ New Darling Rangers.
Expect incredible musicianship, Western Swing with a WA twist, and a relaxed festival vibe with food trucks, bars, chill-out zones, and a dance floor. It’s also the launch of the WA National Guitar Festival, coming in 2026.

2. Spring School Holidays at Scitech (27 September – 12 October 2025)
Scitech has packed the holidays full of curiosity and discovery with live science shows, hands-on workshops, back-to-back planetarium sessions, and interactive challenges.
Highlights include the Under Pressure live show, plus planetarium experiences like A Little Space and The Great Solar System Adventure. With doors opening from 9am daily, it’s the perfect way to spark wonder in kids of all ages.

3. Become a Coin Designer at The Perth Mint (30 September – 9 October 2025)
Get creative these school holidays with a unique workshop at The Perth Mint. Kids can design their very own coin, learning how scale and shape come together before seeing their masterpiece turned into an engraved medallion to take home.
Sessions run daily at 9:45am and 1:45pm, and if you book with a Gold Tour, you’ll get a $5 discount per participant.

4. The Bell Tower School Holiday Fun (21 September – October 2025)
Head to Perth’s iconic Bell Tower for school holiday activities that combine history, sound, and hands-on learning. Kids can discover the story behind the bells of St Martin-in-the-Fields, see the massive bells up close, and even have a go at ringing them.

5. Totally Lit Trail (6 October – 10 October 2025)
Page-turning adventures await in Fremantle these school holidays with the Totally Lit Trail! This playful treasure hunt is perfect for families and little explorers.
Your mission? Collect six unique puzzle pieces hidden around Fremantle to complete Frané Lessac’s stunning illustration—and take home a piece of the port city’s story.

6. Little Big Dinosaur Trail (Running daily)
Some sneaky prehistoric visitors have made their home at the WA Museum Boola Bardip – and they need your help to be found!
This self-led trail challenges kids (and grown-ups) to track down 13 hidden dinosaurs around the museum. They’re not easy to spot, but scan the special markers with your phone and you’ll see little and big dinos come to life! Along the way, enjoy fun facts and roar-some jokes, making it the perfect adventure for dinosaur fans of all ages.

7. Travel to Rottnest Island with SeaLink Kids Club
Set sail to Rottnest Island with the SeaLink Kids Club. Families can enjoy the ferry ride, spot wildlife, and take part in kid-friendly activities once you’re on the island. It’s a fun spring day trip that feels like a mini holiday.

8. Bloom Joondalup (26 September – 26 October 2025)
Step into a storybook after dark with Bloom, an immersive light and sound show that transforms Central Park, Joondalup into a glowing wonderland.

11. Kings Park Everlasting Festival (12 – 29 September 2025)
Spring in Perth wouldn’t be complete without the Everlasting Kings Park Festival, a month-long celebration of WA’s wildflowers. 15. Code Camp (29 September – 10 October)
Code Camp offers creative, hands-on holiday camps for kids aged 5 to 13, combining fun and learning in technology and digital skills. Their programs include beginner camps like Little Coders, to more advanced options like robotics, Minecraft engineering, animation and web design. Camps run in person across Perth locations (and online too) during the school holidays. It’s a great mix of fun, friendship and learning!

16. Araluen Botanic Park Tulip Festival (22 August – 10 October)
Spring in Perth Hills means tulips, and Araluen Botanic Park has over 250,000 of them in bloom for this year’s Tulip Festival. Just 40 minutes from the city, the park is alive with colour, live music, kids’ activities, giant bubbles, a fairy-door trail, and even a trackless train ride through the gardens.
Children under 12 enter free with a paying adult, making it an easy family day out. With photo-worthy flower displays, heritage gardens and plenty of space to picnic, it’s the perfect way to celebrate spring.

17. Dolphin Talk – Over 8’s (2 October)
Looking for an exciting and FREE school holiday activity? Head to the Mandurah Visitor Centre for an immersive, hands-on session with Dudley the Dolphin! Perfect for kids aged 8 and above, this 45-minute adventure is led by the experts from Estuary Guardians & Mandurah Cruises, offering a closer look at our incredible marine environment.

18. Visit the Terracotta Warriors (28 June – 22 February)
This school holidays, step into ancient China at WA Museum Boola Bardip with Terracotta Warriors: Legacy of the First Emperor. The exhibition brings history to life with more than 225 rare artefacts, including 10 of the famous life-sized warriors that once guarded the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Alongside the incredible displays, families can enjoy immersive digital experiences, hands-on workshops, family Sundays and special events designed for all ages.

19. Swan Valley Adventure Centre
Located at 58 Yule Avenue, Middle Swan, this outdoor adventure hub is perfect for school holidays. You’ll find a huge range of group-friendly activities like flying foxes, archery, high ropes, canoeing, kayaking, raft building, rock climbing and more. They also offer school camps, youth group excursions, birthday party packages, and special holiday-program options.

20. Glow Golf at Wanneroo Botanic Gardens
Just 30 minutes north of Perth, Wanneroo Botanic Gardens is a fabulous family outing. Explore beautiful gardens, waterfalls, and flower displays while enjoying 36 holes of mini golf, or try Glow Golf in the evenings with neon-lit courses. Kids under 3 go free, and tickets can be booked online for convenience. With games, gardens, and a café for a meal after, it’s a fun day out for the whole family.
