AGWA: Re-PLAY
05/07/2025 - 02/02/2026AGWA’s newest exhibition invites you to pause, connect, and Re-PLAY!
In a time where everything feels a bit too fast, too digital, and too disconnected, Re-PLAY brings us back to something simple – the joy of play, creativity, and real human connection.
Presented by the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) and curated by Lilly Blue, Head of Learning and Creativity Research, this colourful and interactive exhibition is a collaboration with celebrated WA artist Maxxi Minaxi May.
Known for her bold use of colour and playful, thought-provoking style, Maxxi brings energy, humour and meaning to Re-PLAY – an immersive, hands-on experience that encourages people of all ages and abilities to explore, create and connect.
Expect tactile installations, vibrant colour, and an open invitation to let go of screens and schedules. Instead, step into a space where joy, beauty, and creative freedom take centre stage – a gentle reminder of the emotional power of play and its role in building wellbeing.
Completely unplugged and designed for everyone, Re-PLAY is more than an exhibition – it’s a space to breathe, reflect and rediscover what makes us feel alive.
