Brookfield Place First Nations Culture Celebrations

Brookfield Place First Nations Culture Celebrations

11/06/2024 - 10/07/2024

Brookfield Properties is acknowledging the rich histories and cultures of Australia’s First Nations people with seven weeks of free events in Perth’s CBD, including live music and interactive art.

The theme for this year’s National Reconciliation Week is ‘Now More Than Ever’, alongside NAIDOC Week’s 2024 theme, ‘Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud’. Both themes celebrate the indomitable spirit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples while acknowledging the deep importance of moving forward together. Bookmarked by National Reconciliation Week commencing 27 May and running through to NAIDOC Week on 9 July, Brookfield Properties’ events will give tenants and visitors the chance to learn more about the histories and traditional expressions of the world’s oldest living culture. Catch an intimate line-up of local musicians and artists at Brookfield Place.

11 & 26 June – Award-winning Noongar singer-songwriter, Lilly Gogos, will be performing at Brookfield Place from 11:45am – 1:45pm. With a signature sound blending gospel, soul, country and blues, she has toured remote and regional Australia with the award-winning Yabu Band.

17 to 21 June – Visit Brookfield Place Perth to join in the interactive Community Canvas and make your mark, guided by Noongar artist Fiona Reidy of Djinda Kaal Dreaming.

18 June & 10 July – Unmissable cover band EVERGRACE will be playing from 11:45am – 1:45pm, fronted by local singer-songwriter Grace Newton-Wordsworth, lead singer of indie pop band ‘Joan and the Giants.’

18 to 20 June – Visit Elizabeth Quay’s latest landmark location, grab a paintbrush, and contribute to One The Esplanade’s Community Canvas. Guided by Whadjuk artist and educator Justin Martin of Djurandi Dreaming, the Community Canvas is a great opportunity to get creative while learning more about Martin’s vibrant traditional painting styles.
